Coach Ruaiti - Head Coach
Coach Ruaiti worked in the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) as a personal trainer for over 10 years. With a strong foundation in strength & conditioning, functional fitness, and injury prevention, Ruaiti has coached people across a wide range of abilities and now brings that experience, knowledge, and coaching style to the PFF community. He’s a big fan of clean and jerks, the ABs, and a good caramel latte.

Coach Thanz
Ko Thanz tōku ingoa, nō Ngāti Manu ahau. Sport and fitness have been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up competing in swimming and triathlon, and also spent many years playing soccer. Those experiences shaped my love for movement, discipline, and pushing myself physically. I began my CrossFit journey in 2015, training with a few workmates during our lunch breaks. We were largely self-taught and working with limited equipment, so while our technique wasn’t always perfect, we made it work and built a strong foundation through mahi tahi and determination. In 2019, finding PFF and being coached by Arama was a game-changer for me. The coaching cues and guidance helped refine my technique and deepen my understanding of movement and training — it really lifted my CrossFit journey to the next level. In 2025, I stepped into coaching, and it has been an incredibly rewarding path. Being able to support the kaupapa of PFF and give back to the community that has given me so much is something I’m truly grateful for. The members are what make the box — we have an amazing whānau, and I genuinely enjoy supporting, motivating, and coaching them.

Coach Samaria
I have done Crossfit-style fitness on and off since 2013. I started Crossfit when PFF opened in April 2019. Crossfit has been my main sport and source of fitness since then. I enjoy mind challenging activities like pub quizzes, amazing races, escape rooms, discussions on controversial topics and board games. I’m also on my reo reclamation journey, so if you speak Te Reo, I’d love to converse with you in Te Reo.

Coach Pania
I was 8 when I joined the gymnastic team, from then on have participated in various sports from Swimming, Badminton, Softball and Club Netball although I was active I was not a very co ordinated or outstanding athlete till I played Basketball at 15. Due to a good friends support, collectively, team and coach went on to represent Auckland in the NZ Nationals. Im not competitive by nature but play sports for the shear enjoyment of it.
The last 30yrs have been focused on family life. I began to notice my coordination, cardio, strength and confidence had diminished considerably. Realising I needed to be proactive I started looking for something to improve my health when PFF Cross fit found Me, came right up to the door and knocked on it. Arama set up PFF in the space right under our appartment.
Since joining it has taken time to retrain my mind and body, but with support and inspiration from PFF Coaches and Memebers, I enjoy increased energy and strength along with learning new skills. I enjoy Traditional Medicines providing Massage and work on my spiritual developmentl as they tend to go hand in hand. I also love drawing and Illustration, which I find meditative and sometimes moonlight as a Secutity Officer for my husbands Security Company. Coaching team continue to support my coaching developement.

Coach Natasha
Hi, I’m Natasha. I have been a coach with the gym for a little over a year now and I am continuing to grow and learn from my fellow coaches and the PFF community.
I juggle a few roles in life; palliative care nurse, longtime musician, kombucha enthusiast, and, most importantly, fulfilling my role as a BME: Best Mum Ever:) I came mainly from an individual‑sport background: swimming, snowboarding and running, before finding the community I didn’t know I was missing at PFF in 2022. Coaching pushes me to be better and seeing someone realise they’re capable of more than they thought is genuinely one of my favourite moments.
Rope climbs and anything that involves the rig are my jam!

Coach Janine
I am a midwife by trade and spend a big part of my life convincing people they are capable of doing hard things. This translates into my coaching - I have absolute belief that our members are capable of achieving great things with hard work, consistency and focusing on technique. I have been coaching at PFF since 2020, I love our members and the culture of our gym. I always leave the gym feeling better than when I arrive - our people are everything.

Coach Chris
I'm at the age where my mind still thinks I'm 29, my humour suggest I'm 12,while my body mostly keeps asking if I'm sure I'm not dead yet.
My interests include Basketball, Rugby,Surfing Sailing and now CrossFit. I orginally started my functional fitness training at Crossfit Te Ora in Kerikeri. However after a bit of a break from Te Ora I saw a post on facebook the PFF was opening. Not too long after meeting Arama I joined PFF and eventually became one of the coaches.
Being part of PFF as a coach means that I can continue to do what I love whilst being a part of a team that helps people be the best person they can be. I love how CrossFit is a sport that the last person gets the loudest cheer and the thing that challenges you the most is yourself, watching people improve with various movements gives them a huge sense of satisfaction and accomplishment, I love the banter the environment and being surrounded by like-minded positive and supportive people.
Diane is my favourite WOD as I love handstand push ups.
